Chrysler Bankrupcy Protection
 DETROIT (AP) - February 4, 2008 -- Chrysler plans to close four assembly plants temporarily due to the bankruptcy protection filing of one of its plastic parts suppliers. Company spokeswoman Michelle Tinson says the affected plants are in Sterling Heights, Mich; Newark, Del.; Toledo, Ohio; and Belvidere, Ill. The automaker still is determining what additional impact Michigan-based Plastech Engineered Products bankruptcy filing last week will have on its manufacturing operations. Chrysler says it terminated its contracts with Plastech on Friday.

I wonder what all plastic parts they made. I can't imagine getting retooling done would be a speedy process.

I know the brake air ducts for the 300 SRT8 come from England thats what mine have on them.

The whole Brampton plant got sent home early today because of this. Thats how fast it has an impact. Supposedly they said it'll be like this for the rest of the week.

Well....since brampton is shut down.....
I hope that somehow a very specific component for the challenger was made by that company, and they don't have plans in place yet for more parts...lol That way Jmatt has to wait longer for his car.

The company is Plastech.....
Extremely big subcontractor in my area. They however are known to be sloooooooooow at paying their bills.. You get Paid 1/2 to a yr after ppap Ppap is a pre part approval process.. created by the big 3 to stretch the payable as long as possible..  If they collapse, it will mean many more skilled trade jobs gone bye bye in good ol windsor..
