I vote sidewinder..If I was running a 5.7 that is the one I would get. It seems to be the cam that produces the fastest cars cam only. Just take a look at Mexi and Prican. They are killing with their sidewinder. They would smoke my SRT8 probably. You listening Bob......
As far as tuning, Bob@SVS is awesome to deal with and knows his stuff, Lafrad is also great from what I hear, and Dynosteve. From a price point, you can't beat Bob's tunes for $175. You will definitely need to be tuned after a cam swap. I would recommend an A/F gauge as well. Helps the tuner tremendously. No need to dynotune if you got that.

Is that what they did over there ??? Lame . Seems like track results and accessability are the two key elements . Great thing we have this many options....isn't it . You will love whatever you get ..

it gets really bais over there. people argue tooth and nail about one cam being better than the sidewinder. i said prove it . they pulled dyno sheets. i said show me track times. till this day there is still not one car even close to the sidewinder car with that cam. when they told me that i thougth my cam was the end all. i responed with this. if i see all these cars running faster / better times. then i will be looking to a new combo. till then im not going to change my cam cause they say it feels better.there is alot of different options for 6.1 cars. but $ for $ fri has the best records in the 5.7.
they have the fastest 5.7 n/a 2wd 11.8 5.7 n/a awd 12.8 5.7 cam only 12.44 5.7 stock converter 12.42 5.7 power adder 11.6 they still have fast cars and records with the 6.1's but fri has dominated the 5.7's and the cars that are even close to the fri ones . the money spent on them they should be faster. stokers and 6.1 and blown cars there is alot of other guys in the running with good products.with the 5.7 i cant see not going with what works. i did all this reading before i bought my combo. they were fast then and they are fast now. no ive seen the littleboy and sparrow and the hellfire used with stock heads. but those cams will need a converter. the sidwinder has so much low end it dosnt need a converter. i cut a 1.79 60 ft with a stock converter.
you will get way more out of the bigger cam with heads tho. |

You don't have to have a torque converter upgrade done...but if you plan on hitting the track and want better times you'll need one.
BTW...there is a decent track about 30 minutes south of CO springs. |
