    Hi Forum,

I'm from Bradenton Fl and my 2008 Chrysler 300 radio (radio, navigation, Satelite radio) goes blank after 30 seconds and then shuts off after another 10 seconds. It then turns on automatically in 10 seconds and goes to the same station. It repeats this routine indefinitely. If I turn off the radio in the first 30 seconds the radio automatically turns on every minute or so and displays the Chryler logo for a few seconds and shuts off. Once in a blue moon the whole system works perfectly until I shut off the car. When I turn the car on it's back to it's old tricks.

Has anyone experienced this? I know the radio system still works but seems to have a bug in it. I asked the Chryler dealer if there was a CD that could be run to remedy it but they said there isn't. The dealer said a new system is $1300.

Before I take this expensive option I hoped one of you may have an idea I could try to fix it. Thanks for your help!

Hi and welcome to the 'Z', from VA. I don't know what may be causing your issue but before you fork out $1300 to the dealership for a new system, you can do better checking out eBay or looking for a comparable aftermarket head unit.

There may be a way to fix it but we need to know what head unit we are dealing with here.

However, in my experience, when they start doing this it's the end of the head unit.

You can go to the dealer but there are a lot of good slightly used stock head units out there on eBay. I found a REC NAV to upgrade my truck for $400!

So what head unit do you have?

I have a 2009 Chrysler 300C I bought it in 2010 and started having the same exact problem a year after I bought it. I was told since I am the second owner they can't do anything to fix the problem the stock deck on e bay is $500 and through the company its $800. I wish I could help but I'm at a loss myself for why it is doing this besides a short somewhere in the wire harness.
