05 300c Boston 8 speaker amplifier 05059073AN, krackel krackel pop, then no sound. Not repairable - toroid lead burned 3/16" hole thru 3 of 4 copper layers of circuit board. Vietnam killed 80% left and 30% right hearing so can't really appreciate quality sound or stereo separation but this Boston amp that died was the best audio I have experienced since that war. I want to restore that Boston sound with the closest plug and play 8 speaker power match available OR another Boston if no other choice (I strongly suspect this burnout failure is common to this Boston amp derived by finding the cause of failure). My comfort volume level was 30~40% on this Boston amp. Searches have shown that Kicker had one, is still available in some audio stores, but is no longer made? What would you audio professionals recommend and why? I'm retired on SS so cost is important and a used amp might be attractive. I put together circuit board photos of this Boston amp failure and will TRY to add them to this post if possible.
