Can anyone answer why tray passenger seat side of shifter has a rectangular hole exposed, i've checked several places including ebay and it would appear it's natural however it's idiotic to have an open hole for objects to fall into?

Wow 27 views yet no answers, crazy. I did figure out that I was just missing an insert that covers the hole yet for the life of me w/o tearing into the bezel or whatever and trying to figure it out why does Chrysler have that awkward hole there?

Yes it's perfect place for many things however no answers to original question. When I got my 2005 Chrysler 300 C I recently purchased I initially didn't realize it was missing the actually filler piece therefore there is a natural square hole within the cubby that stuff can fall into inner shifter area which makes no comment sense and I just don't know if ppl can follow what I'm talking about lol.
