Well I've got a new pair of shoes, heh heh heh... I'm eager to get them installed on my girl. (She's my sweetheart)

But before I go off in one direction or another I thought I'd present some pics of what I'm about to do and take a poll.

Pretty simple really. Attack it myself or Hire a pro and take photo's regardless of which way I go.

Mind you, I have three of the four boxes here and I'm still waiting on it in order to have all the parts to move forward.

A little background on me and what my skillsets are;

1. I work in the computer industry, with more than a dozen years tinkering with PC's and operating systems.
2. I have replaced brake pads on many of my own vehicles.
3. I have homeowner tools, (jack, jack stands, generic wrenches and sockets, plus a new air compressor and impact wrench set from my wife for the B-day).
4. I tinker on the house extensively as I hate the Sacramento heat. This includes amongst other things, new AC in the house, a whole house fan, and electrical wiring.

I am aware that I do not have everything I need to make this conversion happen in these photos as I await one more package from Fedex.

So sway me. Ha ha ha...:4-dontknow:

Look at the foto's below, what would you do / What would you recommend I do? And why?

I say hire a pro....... and make sure your wheels will clear the brembo's. You'll be major pissed to get them installed and then not have the room to put your rims back on.

Unless you know exactly what you are doing, I'd hire a shop. Brakes are not a system you can make a mistake with.

Both Excellent points. I recently acquired 20" SRT8 Charger wheels to replace my stockers, and I do have a set of 22"s.

You've got an excellent point about brakes being the most important part of the car next to the pink slip. I'm looking forward to the responses and I really appreciate your time.

how much did you get the whole set up for?.. and yes, I would do it myself! :)
UCM's SRT8. And why? Why's your opinion? I welcome your responses.

( Guess the comment might be, "because I own a brake shop and its a piece of cake...", etc.)

Thanks for chiming in! I know what you mean. Once the parts came in I wasn't as confident as I was when I considered getting into it myself.

The next question will be, where the heck do I go in Sacramento, CA. for excellent service...

I just called the local muffler and brake shop that used to mod my exhausts back in the day.

Sayz right there on their website they carry the brand and they can do complete swap outs...

Guess I better talk to the owner because the shop foreman I just talked to pointed me over to Les Schwab, stating he can't do the work. (maybe he meant, HE can't do the work?)...

Wonder how good ol' Colby (the owner) is doin'... Maybe I'll send him an emial...

See what I mean about going to shops? gotta know the ownerz man. Gotta.

Amusingly enough, a custom fabbing exhaust shop wants a crack at 'em. Maybe that will be my next poll....

Depending on what kind of time you have to do the swap...the tools you have....and if you can leave it in the garage sitting for a amount of time I'd do it yourself...

Nothing really takes too special of tools...but air makes it go a lot faster. The service manual will tell you most of what you need to know for torque specs etc. along with what goes where etc. It's a **** load of parts but most of it will bolt right in place of the ones on your car.

You can try SVS R&D. They do all kinds of custom roll bars and many projects. Ask for Bob, they may be able to help you out. I have a tune from Bob, and have heard nothing but good things about the projects coming out of his shop.
