Transmission Fluid Temperature

Guys,
Is there a way to read the transmission fluid temperature through the EVIC? If a scan tool is needed, does anyone know of an affordable scan tool that will read the trans fluid temperature. I already know about the compass & music note keys changing the EVIC to be able to read oil pressure, engine temperature in °F, and pedal position, but I need to find the transmission fluid temperature. I have the special 9336 tool (read: extra long dipstick) that one is to be used to measure the transmission fluid level, but according to the shop manual, you have to use the fluid temperature as well.

I have no experience with non-EVIC equipped vehicles, Tracy. To get a code from one of them you would probably have to have the PCM scanned by the Dealer. I have not seen an aftermarket code scanner for the LX but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

Can anyone tell me what the error code 2173 is? It comes on very sporadically and when I shut the car off and back on, it's gone.

I seems to come on when I'm just cruising at like 40-50 KM/h and is accompanied with a red electrical sign on the left of the console and the yellow EPS/ABS light comes on on the left side of the console. The car also runs very rough and becomes gutless. But like I said, if I stop, turn off he car and back on. It clears and the car runs normal again. This has happened only 3 times in 3 months, but it makes me nervous to take it on longer trips because I don't know what it is and can't seem to find that code in any error lists. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First of all,

If I ever have a question I know I can trust you guys to have it!!

My instrument panel is not a LED display like the C model....I wouldnt be able to do the check for errors like Maddog indicated in post 1 of this thread right?

no...not like that...

There should be a way to get the codes by key cycling..but I can't find the instructions on that way. The easiest is with a cheap code reader or predator in you're case.

Don't see that one in the my list, marietown. Before we try to decode this, have your mechanic pull the Auto Shutoff/PCM fuse (domestic market cars have this at the Fuse 11 position in the underhood fusebox - check your owner's manual to be sure this is the same on your car), leave the fuse out for at least a minute, then reinstall and start the car. The codes may clear now that the transmission leak has been mechanically repaired.

Excellent thread.. I have been working on my vehicles audio system and now i am unable to start my Car. Its actually the third time. 1st time was the machine gun like noised and jumped it. The second and third times are identical where the dash lights up and radio comes on, etc.. but the car will not turn over.

I did the error diagnostic and im getting 0645 which is a AC clutch control
would this stop the car from starting and where should i looked.
i checked all related based on the manual and fuses are all good

Thanks

How would i fix this error code?
P0158 HO2S Circuit High Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 2
