I have a 2018 Chrysler 300s with 28,500 miles on the odo. The engine is Pentastar 3.6 V-6. I noticed that the coolant temp go up as high as 219 degrees (the outside temperature is around 75 degrees). Most of the time it stays at around 204-210 degrees while cruising on the highway.
I did some research and learned that the Pentastar engine block was sand-cast with aluminum. There might have some sand inside the coolant system because it is not flushed completely before the assembly of the engine at the factory. I was thinking, maybe there is some sand trapped in the radiator core, etc.
Should I take my car to the dealer for a coolant flush (and replace it with a new coolant)?? That might get rid of sand inside of the coolant system?? I don't have a proper tool to flush the coolant system, but I am sure that the dealership has that kind of tool.
What are your thoughts & opinions? Thanks
