I know this has been posted on some of the other forums on the web and not quite sure if it had been posted here on the 300Z yet, but for those of you LEO and Military members there is a website that allows you to purchase many different styles of Oakley Sunglass frames and lenses including Rx at deeply discounted prices, as well as many other Oakley products that can come in handy and useful to those of us. I have made a few purchases from the website in the past and really want to pass along the info to those who dont know about it.

The website will not show you the prices until you are a confirmed registered member. As an example of pricing, Oakley Half-Jackets retail for approx $125-$145 for non-polarized lenses...on the website you get the Half-Jacket array which includes Frames, Grey lenses and Amber lenses along with replacement nose pieces and the Hard carrying case all for $85. Polarized lenses for the same frames retail for about $75-$85, on the website...$35. Polarized Rx lenses in your local authorized Oakley optical retailer sell for around $325....you can get them for $115.

Registration is easy and fairly painless, all you need is a scanner and your ID, you fill out the registration form, scan a copy of your Mil/LEO ID, email it all in, and they will verify your registration in 24-48hrs...then you can go nuts with new Oakley Sunglasses.

The Website address is: usstandardissue.com

If it is improper to post the actual web address....an admin could just delete the address and I will just put in to PM me for info.

I hope we can make this thread a sticky so it will never get lost.

Great idea but I would be extremely cautious with scanning your ID and emailing it or sending it anywhere.
I am with this guy, all it takes is one disgrunteled employee, or one 0-day vuln to open up a server like a bread box. Plus what happens to all those emails? Are they printed and stuck in a file cab. Are they stored on a server that is on the same network as a WEP protected wireless AP?

Just some stuff to think about from someone who has been helping the Gov and the commercial sector keep their secrets for a decade plus.

the usstandardissue.com is 1/2 the price of oakley. you need to be government/military affiliated to use it.

The fact you suggest their web server is sharing a network with a WEP AP leads me to believe you've just received your NET+. We're talking about a corporation with multi-million dollar contracts with the US Gov't, not a guy making sunglasses in his basement. You're just at risk, if not more, when you apply for a passport. If I didn't get 15 pairs of Oakleys from supply every time someone mentioned Iraq I'd be all over this.
