Hi everyone. I got a 2005 Chrysler 300 2.7l, actually bought if for my wife in '06, and I've done my best to keep up on maintenance & repairs since then. Getting ready to replace head gaskets, timing chain & water pump, which is probably a bit above my pay grade if I'm honest, but so was the trans about 20k ago. I've been reading posts from this forum for years, and with the love my wife has for that damn car, I figured I better create an account here and get a proper profile. I'm a Mod on a forum for painting pros, so I think I have a pretty good understanding of forum etiquette. I come from the school of searching for answers rather than having everything drip fed to me, but if I can't find what I'm looking for or need further confirmation, I'm looking forward to being able to ask for your assistance. There's a wealth of knowledge on these boards, so thanks for having me.

Welcome from the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Kind of a strange introduction and not the best writing. However, we’re happy you’re here.:)

I have a brand new timing chain, water pump, and oil pump that I got for my 08 300 2.7 anyone can have it for very cheap since I have no use for it.
Very generous of you, but I'm pretty sure they went to the smaller chain in '08.

So the repair went well. I didn't end up replacing the knock sensor. I did replace timing chain, cam chains, tensioner, valve cover gaskets, manifold gaskets, water pump, and a few other misc goodies. The car runs better than it has in a long time. I don't ever want to have to do that again though.
