Make sure you have a mechanic check it thoroughly. Leakdown test, cooling system pressure test, etc. The 3.5 is better than the 2.7, but that's a very low bar.

If the timing belts haven't been changed, they're due. The 3.5 is an interference design, so if a timing belt breaks, your engine is probably scrap and the car is likely totaled. I don't know what the used engine market is like in Mexico, but decent used 3.5s in the USA have been very hard to find at a fair price for a long time.
