I was reading through the thread and wanted to throw in the Injen CAI is awesome as well. I threw it on my 14 300S and love the sound it adds. Looking to do exhaust and tuner next.

Great Job with the Car Stylish. And Great job with the thread and documenting all your upgrades. I just bought a Black on Black 2015 300S 3.6 and have been up many nights looking for the best route for MODS. You really gave me the way to go. One question though, If you had to do it all over what would you change? Any way thanks for the great thread and all the great ideas.

3.6L performance

I am a newbie to this form today.
I bought a 2015 300s with 3.6L Penastar back in August. The 3.6L is a great little motor and as is from the factory; it develops 300 HP and 283 foot lbs of torque. I traded in my 2011 Charger RT MAX with the 5.7 HEMI for it. People may think that I was crazy to do so, as I gave up 375 HP and almost 400Lbs of torque...Yes the 300 with the 6 cylinder engine does not have the tire ripping ability of the 5.7 HEMI.. but it does get better mileage, the vehicle does have better front to rear weight ratio, and the performance from the 3.6L is pretty damn good. Just ask the guy with his BMW that could not out run my 300 on the straights or through the curves the other day here in TN.

Well, I don't know why there's so little interest in the 3.6L engine, I'm sure there are a million of us out here with it. But I am one who only a mere two weeks ago never thought about any mods for my Limited.

I'm hoping I can get some chatter started in the 3.6 corner of this site. There's so much valuable information everywhere else on this site, but it seems as if there's little to no interest in probably Chrylser's most sold engine period.

That's because its the worst engine Chrysler had made next to the one before it .have you had your number 2 cylinder problem yet
being that I just bought my first 300s ever, 2016 model, I don't have much to say about the car yet other than I have to disagree with you. You're obviously biased for whatever reason and I respect that but I can show you $6700 worth of reasons not to buy a Silverado 2500HD because of the continuous problems with these things; cylinders, head gaskets, fuel injector wiring harnesses breaking, valve floating, etc. And that's all before any tuner or modifications were done to it. What I don't agree with is comments like this made about anything and absolutely NOTHING to back it up. I'm assuming you simply expect people to take your word for it?

Back up what you're saying so I can start feeling bad about the purchase I just made.

Hey guys new to the forum here but not new to modding. I bought my 14 300s V6 a few months ago and had to make the decision whether to buy a 300C V8 or my final choice of the V6. Simply put I chose the V6 over the V8 because of mileage, huge difference in city and highway and when you live in Houston you are constantly on the highway.

Power was not an issue because to 6'er makes great power (just a few years ago V8's barely cracked the 300hp mark) and returns great mileage. Really who doesn't like that combo? I just returned from a trip to Austin, one tank of gas there and back with room to spare and averaged 28.8 MPG. The real reason the 6'er isn't quicker off the line is the 2.65 gearing. Fix the gearing first then performance mods start to make a real difference. A 3.06 or 3.55 would be a world of difference and really wake this thing up. Throw in a great custom tune and have it tweaked each time you make a new mod, then you can enjoy this great motor. BTW if this motor is so bad why did Fiat decide to use the Pentastar as its base for the Maserati Ghibli and now the Alfa Gulia? Have you seen what this motor does on twin turbo??

I purchased mine with the intention of adding a few mods down the road as it's hard for me to drive something stock and be happy.
Only vehicle I've ever owned that I haven't modded has been my ML63 but that still has less than 10K miles on it and I promised my wife I wouldn't touch that until it hit 10K.

Just my 2 cents.
Cheers!

Talking about mileage and modding......my hotrod days are over. I bought the C because of the Luxo-Sport. And "sometimes" a go faster mod will help with the mileage, presuming you can go easy on the loud pedal.
Anybody done anything to increase mileage?

Tuned the 3.6 today with the Trinity, broke out the Escort 9500ix, and had a ball up and down I-75

Can't wait to get into the shop, still got work to put in, most notably that Borla Cat Back Exhaust. Video will be accompanying that mod.

Still no chatter eh?
I pick up my 300s 3.6 Monday . can I use my Diablosport intune i2 on my 2015 300s I have it on my 2014 charger rt.I just need to get the licens. it can tune 8 cars I just hope I'm not disappointed in the 3.6

I'm with you guys on the mod thing. I have a hard time leaving my cars alone. However, with that said I just bought a 15 300S with the 3.6. I put the K&N on it because it adds a couple of HP and I seem to notice maybe 1 MPG difference. I cruise the highways of Texas and wanted something that was comfortable had good power and still got mileage. This baby gets 32 mpg on I-10 cruising 85 MPH on level ground. I have owned a 5 series BMW and this 300 is every bit the touring sedan it was with more bells and whistles. for a big car it handles the twisty's and has enough power to pull out of them nicely. I had an 08 with a 2.7 and this suspension and power is 100% improvement. The 2,7 couldn't get out of its own way and was a very soft fluffy suspension.
I own a Shelby GT 500 with 700 HP so I'm not interested in doing anything to try and make a hot rod out of a nice touring sedan. If I can squeak an extra 15 hp out of doing and exhaust with the CAI and not hurt the mileage I'm all for it. I even love the wheels it came with. I will concentrate on making it look a little nicer more than pushing a V-6 to limits that may make it less reliable. I don't believe the internals were built for high horsepower mods unlike my Shelby which can easy enough handle 1000 HP the way the engine was built.
Of course I'm not against anyone else doing it but this is my work, family run around car.
I am new to the forum and I appreciate all the information shared and love looking at everyone else's ride. I will get a picture of mine up soon.

Im new to the forum thing. Im not a rookie when it comes to motors. Ive been riding ATV's and dirtbikes since i was 8. Did the whole drag racing thing. Got tired of that and started track racing. Now I wanna start having a lil fun with my new car. Its a V6 but that dont mean it dont deserve a lil TLC. My first mods are gonna wheels, tires, coil overs and exhaust. Any suggestions on coil overs and exhaust????

my dads friend traded in his hemi for the AWD 3.6 300 he likes it he said less power but the gas mileage is amazing

Ha. At this point you might as well start your own build thread.
I agree with this guy, I have the same car you do bro and I want to gain some more power, also married to it, hopefully have an srt in a few years, but you’re form alone has helped me out with figuring out what works and what doesn’t, you honesty should just start your own forum or even YouTube channel I don’t see anyone doing anything with 3.6 300’s. Unless they’re supercharging it 🤪

You're agreeing with a seven-year-old post from someone who hasn't been seen on this site in years.
