Im looking into installing a OEM remote start, but i have a few Q's.

What are the features ???:4-dontknow:

Do the lights flash while the car is running ?
Do the doors unlock while running ?
Do I have to dissarm the alarm before starting the car ?
How long does the car run before it shuts off ?

What are the pros & cons of a remote start ???

okay i installed my own so i kinda know.
features depend if you get the regular remote start or 2 way. (2 way is worth the extra coin because your fob will give you an audible chirp and light up if the car was successfully started one way doesnt do this. but you it will honk the horn when the car starts on one way, but i found that annoying so i didnt hook the horn up to remote start. so i just peak out the window and watch the cars lights, since the squence is hit the remote start button twice to start the car, so i watch for the lights to blink twice.
door do not unlock while running you will need your regular fob to unlock doors
if your alarm is seperate you prob do to get into the car or i assume your alarm will go off, but i dont have alarm so i use the other fob unlock the door put the key in ignition and turn it and drive away
you can control run time, i think mine is set for 15-20 minutes

pros and cons, i would say to get the car warmed up in winter and cooled down in summer while your in the office or your own home.

yes sir... too be completely honest i bought a part of it and was installing and realized i forgot the installation kit. I failed to read the directions. Then i found out there was a 2-way kit. I guess i didnt do my homework i just thought the mopar kit would be the easiest to install on our cars. needless to say i will be updating in the near future but right now its perfectly fine.

very easy if you can understand the programming of the fobs which i found easy. a bit hard to explain without seeing the unit but basically its a new DNA box, this box goes inside the remote start box almost like a new computer chip. then you put the new antenna on the glass for the extended range and then program your new fobs.. dang if you were somewhat near michigan i would help you out because i imagine your install is going to be $200+ which could be used towards the 2 way.

I got my dealer to match the price of the system i found online, so they lowered their price $90 on parts.

I can get the extended range kit for $88. i think i will do that one my self.

im having the dealer install because im gonna be out of work for 2 weeks for surgery & will be on bed rest.
so i can have it ready when im able to get out.
pure timing .

where in michigan are you ?

i live in milford. 48381. i am around almost everyday, so we can do work. plus my car is exact as yours so all the hiccups i had on mine wont be present on yours. you will probably get it but check it out anyway. chrysler updated the remote start and basically the difference is the hood tilt piece meaning if your car is started and the hood is opened the piece will sense it and shut down the motor. the old piece mounted to the hood looked like a 46 degree metal cylinder.

the one found in the new kits looks like a plunger so when the hood is opened the pin pops up and the alarm is deactivated, kinda like how a dome light or refrigerator light works when you open the door. the reason i mention this is people with the style i have report that the piece fails and makes the remote start inoperable. i almost bet the part numbers between the old stuff and new stuff is different as we know chryslers version are denoted by the progression the of the last two letters. AF, AG,AH etc.

Does the OEM starter integrate with my existing FOB? I have an 08 with that funny looking key? I'd like not to have extra remotes/FOB, keys, etc. My friend has a Pontiac with integrated start in the FOB itself.
Thanks...
I think you get a whole new fob...at least on the 05-07 ones you do.
Will these work 82208859AB/82208995AG if my car has a factory fitted alarm?
what year is your ride?
