Was going to change coolant for winter, and first time since I bought the car, turned drain valve, nothing. Turned back and forth, loosened air bleed in case of vacuum lock, even tried blowing compressed air into the hose, no go. No cooling problems, coolant looks and smells great, any idea why it won't drain?

The petcock is a cheap piece of soft plastic. I found that in order to get mine to drain, I had to turn it 180º rather than the 90º the book calls for.

After that, it wouldn't seat properly, so I had to replace it. YMMV.

I imagine I will just remove the lower hose, not ideal, but better than messing up the drain ****
