If someone could shed some light on the intermediate shaft/ stub shaft assembly I'd really appreciate it I will include a picture below.

For the past few years I've been trying to get my bagged 2013 awd 300S on the road. Last weekend I decided to finally replace the cv shafts. While removing the drivers side, like a lot of people I had a heck of a time pulling the shaft out, and after all the abuse I noticed the stub with the circlip is loose. I'm guessing I've damaged the whole assembly possibly even more.... I've been trying to find more information on how to replace the whole immediate shaft but unable to find any... opinions, thoughts any help would be appreciated.
