How about the GPS antenna?nope most people with mygig are using the terk sir-mini. its like $20 bucks. it works the same as the OEM one and thats what i am running and so are several others. I didnt want that monstrosity on my roof so i have mine hidden in the cup under the center speaker grille in the dash. Yes i probably am not utilizing the antenna to its greatest potential but it works perfect for me. i got mine here, best price i can find it was like $30 shipped

First off where is your antenna mounted?my position its never right, always off.
First off where is your antenna mounted?
The more satellites you can "see" the more accurate your GPS position will be.
What system do you have? Aftermarket? Stock NAV?
My suggestion, if you can, pop out the center grill cover and pull the antenna up on the dash for a day and see if it makes a difference.I have a mygig, its mounted under the dash, on the midlle speaker grill, its a original 2008 mygig antenna.
I already done that, and even calibrated it a bunch of times, when I go to the road, the cursor gets stack at some point, I tried a several times and nothing changes. I am about to use a 8 lbs hammer to fix the Mynightmare. My suggestion, if you can, pop out the center grill cover and pull the antenna up on the dash for a day and see if it makes a difference.
Like I said before the more satellites that the antenna can "see" the more accurate your position will be. That is why on most installations the antenna is on top of the car, not under the dash being blocked by the metal roof.
If that doesn't help you can swap out the antenna to see if it helps. A GPS antenna is a single element design, one reason for degraded performance could be the wire got pinched or damaged.
Plus having more satellites in view allows the software to update the position faster on the screen. When your driving does the car look like it's skipping on the screen or is it smooth?
