My son has a 2005 2.7 that he bought with tensioner bad. Since he bougght it he was gonna fix it. So he did really good for awhile. Then he missed a step. About moving the crankshaft to the timing marks after lining up TDC....So he moved it after removing the chain. Which I found out later.

So before starting it I had him try to turn the crank with just a wrench. It would only turn a little then stop. that is when I went over the steps and found what he had done. He removed everything again and with a protractor measured 60degrees back on the crank, hooked up the chain again and the engine turned free. Then tried to start it. Tried to fire up then stopped.
Against my instuctions he removed the timing chain again and moved the crank again. but only if it turned free.
I don't think the engine is damaged.....yet.....but I'm wondering how to time the crankshaft with the camshafts if everything has been turned and not sure where to start.

Thanks for any help if there is any....and I have a kid I am wanting to adopt out if anyone is interested.....
