Not sure if I posted in the right area. But Has anybody done window and sunroof rollup.
I have the viper 5901 installed. And have now gotten the module to do window and sunroof rollup. I was wondering what the easiest way to attack this myself. Like locating the wiring for the front windows under the dash and ssunroof wiring

Any feedback would be appreciated

Cheers

Definitely a question for Shawn, but I don't think it's a DIY project since the module has to go through the vehicle's CANBUS.

From what I remember of shawns description it wires directly to the parts and powers them etc...doesn't go through the cars system somehow. I'm 99.9999999% sure shawn has this setup on his ride..and I'm 100% sure he can point you to the parts to make it happen...lol.

Y ahe did get the sunroof working and I think he said it was more involved. But if I could just get the driver and pass window working that would be good. I wanna get this installed then I will be finished with this alarm stuff.

I put this set up in another car that I hooked up. It was a 2007 Scion tC. It was pretty straight forward of an install but I do not know if it would be the same for the 300. I was not able to get it to work on the sunroof.

What window modules are you going to use?

You said a friend had hooked one up in his car and had it working, was that in a LX vehicle?

The front windows are Canbus controlled. You can bypass that for the window modules by wiring directly to the motor inputs in the door.

The rears are not Canbus controlled, so you can wire them up under the dash.

The sunroof is a bit more tricky. Unless they now offer a Canbus module for the sunroof, not sure how its gonna be possible. In order to open or close the sunroof, you will need to power up the Canbus and provide the data signal to open or close the sunroof.

The only way we got it to work was by having the car running in order to open and close the sunroof. But that is not what I wanted, so we skipped the idea and just went with the window controls.

I know its many years later.. but how for the front window bypass, do you need to direct wire to the motors in both front doors?

Im trying to do this on a 07 300 touring. I have 2 modules for front and rear windows.

So far i ran wires for the driver side windoe through the door.. then got stuck with the wiring as they are different from schematics i found amd advice on wire colours from 12volt.
