I've been having a problem with my battery dying, even after a couple of hours of not driving. I found out that the heater blower will stay on even with out the key so I took out fuse #41 in the trunk fuse holder which is for the climate control module and the problem went away, however that obviously creates another problem. Very cold mornings and no defroster. Has anyone heard of this problem or know of what to look at to fix this?

Has it always done this or did it just start?

Does the heater blower stay on even if the switch is in the off position?

Have you or a shop done any work to your car lately?

Sounds like a relay with a stuck/welded contact.
I agree...in extreme temperatures this can happen and it's well known that most relays are now coming from China.

We used to buy Bosch (high quality) German made relays but they are now made in China.

So this could be your issue...not an expensive fix.

Good luck!

It just started happening recently. No recent work has been done on it though. How would I check the relay or find out which relay it is?

Oh and the blower does turn off with the switch but it is still draining power.
