A little info for people that are new to HID lighting -
Many believe that the higher the color temperature the brighter the lamp. This is incorrect. The color temperature is purely a scale to measure the color of the light output. It is a reference purely for color and could equally be called White, Green or Blue. The reality is the higher up the scale the lamps are the less bright they become. 5200K lamps are approx 10% brighter (measured in Lumens, not degrees K) than 7000K. But even a 9000K kit, which is another 10% dimmer, has so much more light than your used to it doesn’t matter. HID lights provide tons of light you will not notice a tad less.
3000k HID Kits: Yellow HID output - Ideal for fog light HID upgrades
4300k HID Kits: Bright white - Used in OEM HID applications.
5000k HID Kits: Crisp white - Bright white output with a slight bluish hue
6500k HID Kits: Bright white with a slight bluish/purplish tinge
8000k HID Kits: Blue output
I tried locating a good color chart but I think some of them are off. I can tell you that the 6500k kits tend to be the most popular. They have a nice bluish color. 8000k is a deep blue and then it starts moving up to purple with the higher k temp.
This will give you an idea of what the different lights look like -
9006 bulbs are used for the low beams and H10 are used in the driving lights. They are a replacement for the stock 9145.
