with a 12 year old..... corvette that is. i was called out at the local repair shop by the proud owner of a 96 vette. Its goin down tonight around 9:00. ill let you guys know what happens. he is bone stock, so 300 hp i think. I am not real worried. if i lose i lose, if i win i win, but i hear he is the kinda guy that will lay money down, so the highest ill go is a hundred. any more ill just feel guilty takin it from him lol. i have 180 t-stat, airaid cai, and the predator. speeking of the predator should i raise the shift points for racing, or will i be in 1st and 2nd too long if i raise them, just curious. ill report back around 10:30 est lol

As an owner of a '92 LT-1, I will tell you that it should be an definite kill. Just don't let him get the jump.

Here's the stat's on the '96 Vette though. They got a power bump if it's a CE or a Grandsport:

1996 - Last year of C4. Special editions: Collectors Edition, all silver with either grey, black or red interior; GrandSport, 1000 made, all came with Admiral Blue paint, white stripe, red hashmarks on front left fender, black ZR1 style wheels, rear fender flares (coupes only), interior black or red/black - All GrandSports were LT4/6spd cars. All manual cars came with LT4 (330hp), automatics came with LT1. ODBII fully functional.

If it's an LT-1 car it's 300HP. EZ kill.

If it's an LT-4 with a few mods it could be close as they're mid to low 13 cars driven well.

P.S. So bascially here's how to tell what he's got (minus mods of course)

If it's an auto=300HP LT1 and weak gearing making it sloooooooooooooooooow.

If it's a Manual=330HP LT4 and strong gearing. They're still quick and that put's them around 10:1 pounds per HP. About the same as our SRT8's.

sorry i came home and fell asleep, with the laptop on my lap too, lol we were supposed to meet at the repair shop at 9:15 for a 9:30 line up. the phone calls started comin at 9:00..."i m gonna be a little late". well little turned into 10:45 start. we went for a hundred bucks each,and there was about another 300 of side bets. not big money but made it more interesting. i beat him by a car, with me letting off towards the end. i let off enough that he wants to go again soon lol. all in all he ended up being a good sport about it.

now do i get my tracking numbers? lol
