Hey guys,

I am on the verge of buying my 22" wheels, Now I hate the gap that 22's leave... so now I need lowering springs... I looked on ebay, but have no idea what will be the best, for the cheapest... I checked out our vebdors and would have loved to use one of them but on average $260 plus shipping to me in canada... i was hoping someone around here could hook me up with a deal or something... i mean i am just spending $2000 on rims, so another $400 on springs... ouch lol... not to mention my rims dont have tires yet...

so that will be another $2000 or so...

Not to be the storm cloud over a shitty day, but I highly suggest you go with Coilovers and not springs. I got eibach proline springs and dampers on my car, and know I completely wasted my money. With the springs alone, when it settles, thats your new ride height, no questions. It'll prematurely wear out your existing dampers and you'll be replacing **** sooner then if you let the suspension go its normal route. If you upgrade both to springs and "adjustable" dampers, well adjustable means take the suspension out and make your adjustment (adding/removing metal rings from the front, 1 small 1 medium and 1 large). This will be slightly cheaper then coil overs and you're properly matching the springs and dampers thus saving you money in the long run. However they are just a huge PITA IMO. Fully adjustable coilovers, that's where the money is at. Pay a bit more, but you can fine tune the car exactly how you want it. Just my 2 cents. I would rather ride stock then with eibach prolines

I have to disagree my starfish breathern....riding stock on 22s rather than a drop from any kind of springs??Hideous....you make very valid points though about parts wearing ect....
This is my reasoning for such an outrageous comment:

Why spend a significant amount of money and not get the most mod for your buck? Granted everyone's budget is different, but to get the benefits of fully adjustable coilovers totally outweighs the odd feeling of 2 inch gaps from riding on 22s with stock suspension.

Sorry but I have to agree that freakin gap is HIDEOUS!!!!

I installed TEIN lowering springs and the drop was not as agressive as the Eibach (2" Drop) I think I am only 1.5 front and 1.3 in the rear and the car sits perfect and it rides AWESOME. I have not had a degradation in my ride quality and the shocks feel the same. Everyone that rides in my car cannot believe that it is lowered because the ride is still great. They can tell that the car is much much lower but cannot feel a difference once they've taken a ride. Not to say that it will not wear out sooner but for the price that I paid for the shocks (<$200) and I installed them myself - that was right in my ballpark.

Clearly you're wrong LOL

I admit my ride is still pretty smooth, but I regret settling on letting a set of springs determine how high my ride sits, I'd rather dial it in myself.

I beg YOUR Pardon...... LMAO!!!!!

Well I guess it would determine what the individual is after- I did not mind that it will sit at the height it sits. I actually prefer the set it and forget it method. My only dilemna was the initial concern of how low I wanted it to sit without sacrificing the ride quality or the opportunity to drive it anywhere and however I wanted it. I myself found that happy median and also saved myself $1K.

call Adam at Eastway in Canada

and get the mopar lowering springs.......they rode fantastic...and had no degradation in ride or components for me.......they only run like 230ish too!!!

they are not as aggressive of a drop as the eibachs, but are like 1/2" lowering than the srt height I believe.....

heres a picture of the ride height:

Well i have to disagree with everyone. SORRY! But for ride safety and no wear and tear of unnecessary parts I installed a KW Coilover suspension and you get what you pay for! If you want to pay in the long run when your unhappy with your ride an the other parts start wearing out an you are replacing them, then go cheap. If not then ridse with the hideous gap or dont install the wheels until you have the money for the suspension. I did things different. I did the suspension first then the wheels. Thats just my opinion.

Yes...if you have a TK bank roll, get coil overs...but theres nothing worse than spending a couple grand on your nice new rims....you run home excitedly to get your camera to snap some pics for your bro's on the Z

And you get about 25-40 responses like this:

Looks great man...need to lower it
Rims are nice bro, ever thought about lowering it?

So...if your on a Cleetis budget, like me...get your springs so the ride looks great until that huge drug deal comes through and you can afford coilovers

That's exactly the thing, I am strapped for cash which is why I would have waited rather then impulsed my way into getting something that would be inevitably replaced be it choice or component failure.

I have to agree with my starfish BB brotheren :) . Why spend the money for just spring and cost to install them *unless you your self is going to install them) then later on do it again with coilover. But that's just me, yeah your ride will have that ungodly GAP with the 22" on stock spring but so what? it's not going to kill ya lol .

Granted I'll be one of them who will be saying, umm you should really lowere that LOL
