Does anyone know how the nav antenna cable is routed from the back of the unit to the rooftop antenna ? My nav is stuck in Jersey ...and I think it may have gotten disconnected somehow . It's connnected at the unit...I took it out to check . Where does it go and how do I access it to check if it became unattached / unplugged somewhere ? Any ideas ?

Ok....I truly have no idea, I think the nav antenna is under the dash...but if it does connect to the sirius antenna too, it goes through the dash, to the passenger side then into a giant wad of wires that you'll never decipher...then up the passenger side D pillar, then across the headliner to the mount.

If you're stuck in Jersey...and it isn't the connection on the radio, I'd bet you are either Frozen and your nav needs to have the power taken off of it so it resets, or you are in the twilight zone.

Long story short . I drove to Jersey one day for my CMR tune , A/F guage install and to safely install the predator while getting tuned . Promotion did the tune at a travel dyno day at crazy horse performance . We installed the diablo and it was on the dyno for almost 4 hours . I stuck around while some other forum guys were getting dyno'd and let the shop owner install my A/F guage . He was a little shaky...to say the least . So I'm leaving Jersey to head to the hotel for the night (we ran at englishtown all weekend) and I notice my Nav is frozen . That was back in october . Still frozen .

I PM MR I. and ask him as I am running a nav hack disc....could this have anything to do with it . He says no way.....unplug the two din plugs , nav antenna ..for two minutes and let it reset itself . I did . You can even hear it . Put it back in and....................Jersey . Dammit !! SO that's not it. I take it to the dealer for some minor issues ...have them look at it .....tell them I'm running the predator (although I returned it to stock tune ) ....and what happened to the nav . Ask him to starscan it for trouble codes ( I had no visable codes or CEL's) . Comes up with .......nothing . Tech calls tech support number .....says I have two options . Get a new nav ......(umn....no . Big money.....and I have the tvandnavtogo module in (so i can watch tv up front from my rear OEM DVD ...so this is not happening ).......or option two ....they can send it out for repair (700 bucks ) . No....I dont think they even know what the problem is or how to fix it.....thank you....but no thanks .

SO........any ideas . I pulled the nav unit again tonight (after I made post #1) and unplugged the nav antenna . It goes up into a fat wiring harness wrapped 1'' thick in tape . I'm guessing it's a home run to the antenna .Is the satellite antenna for sirius and the nav gps location one in the same (rooftop) ?? I was hoping to see it detached somewhere ....but no such luch . I am stumped (I know...not too difficult) . The GPS clock is keeping acurate time.....so it knows where I am......just wont leave some lake in Jersey (hey...maybe Hoffa's there ) . Frustrating .............

So maybe when the predator loaded (and your car does weird things ..like flashing lights , horn beeping , wipers , general mayhem ) ...it affected it . But I haven't seen this anywhere....from anyone .

Or the ''interesting '' dyno shop owner hit something when putting in the A/F and had the dash apart .....

HAHAHAHA ....(inside joke).......hahahahaha. We'll always have the pink creamy penne sauce...........:shakehead:

Why doesn't this surprise me?????? Sorry Mike, I have nothing of value to add, but this just struck me as funny, considering our experiences with your Nav!!!!!!!!

Yup . Did that . Everything else works on the unit....even the time . I even tried to go back to my original disc....but it's older and it wont write over the newer hack . I was going to try to get the new new disc....but I'd hate to waste the dough ....

Well...since you obviously aren't getting anywhere, I don't have any better suggestion that what you have already done. Other than try ejecting the nav disc and putting it back in...sound as if it's just the software is frozen.

Is it the same to disconnect the remote jumper terminals under the hood......or do you have to actually disconnect the physical batterty ?? I actually haven't done this yet . My battery actually died that day on the dyno ...and he had to jump start it . They (James and Dave from promotion ) were in the car for long periods of time without it actually running adjusting settings from their laptop . No problems since.......definately worth a shot . What do I have to lose .....

isnt there a radio fuse he could pull rather than unplug battery?
This is very weird if there was something wrong with the antenna i think it would say no signal or wouldnt let you use the navigation because it would say needs nav antenna installed(thats what mine said without the antenna installed). i would have to say the software is frozen as well. if pulling the radio fuse or disconnecting the battery in attempt to reset the unit make it forget the memory then u may want to wait until someone gets the new nav disc and get a copy from them (cheaper than dealer). Is it possible your cd is scratched all up and it freezes? maybe if your nav antenna got sliced a little bit its messing up but i would think it would say no signal or something. If you think that is the case there is an ebay seller who sells nav antennas for our car not oem but said to work the same for 25 shipped.

For 25 bucks I may just try that Todd . Pull the unit....unplug just the antenna...plug this one in and plop it on the roof . Full view to the sky and see what happens . At least it will isolate whether it's the antenna or the unit/software . I'll dig something up....thanks .

And thanks Nemo......

Do you know where under the dash D ? How do I access it ? I lose it leaving the unit into the harness .I'd love to find /access the end .

Thanks for the link Todd . I was on ebay and I checked back in ........:smiley_thumbs_up:

btw i might have missed this but did you move the car to see if it would recalculate your location?
Also it could be different on cars that come with the nav but i bought the oem nav antenna it was deceiving the antenna is the size of a silver dollar and the metal base was slightly bigger. Anyway the nav antennas cable was no more than 3ft long so i think if you unplugged it from the unit it would be easy to trace to its location.

Weird how that thread just dies . Like my unit.......:) . I drove the car everywhere since.....never picked it up . I also pulled the unit....and the cable goes up and disappears into a harness . I haven't found the end . I'll have to go back in when I have more time . Thanks for the help ...

Since the GPS clock works....I can only assume it's a software issue......

Yup . Tried every setting . Changed home , change state , tried searching for gas stations / point of interest ....checked longitude and lattitude.....just has me frozen at the same place and will not move....
