Hi everybody,

How many quarts of oil does my car need? I have a 2005 Chrysler 300. V6 3.5 engine.
What happens if you over fill your car with oil?

Thany you,

Welcome to the Z, Pollo!

As bravoco1010 sez, 6 Qts. for the V6.

As for overfilling, if it is a full quart over, it could create problems. If it is just a couple ounces, no big. If in doubt, drain it out and start over.

Yep 6qts just like the other guys have said.

Varying things can happen if you overfill. But if it's just a tiny over they allow room for that as you never Fully drain the oil out of the car. However it's a good idea to use the dipstick while you fill to avoid overfilling.

If you overfilled by say a quart of oil..it's time to drain it and do it again. You could burn the oil with it that full and blow blue smoke out, along with clogging up you're caps. You could have excessive oil travel through the PCV line and breathers coating the whole intake area of the TB with oil very quickly. There are tons of things that can happen.
